Mothers Day!
We had a “Breakfast for Mom” event in which 50 of our moms enjoyed a morning of fellowship, worship and encouragement around a table with other single moms. Eating a meal, adult conversations topped with LOVE goes a LONG WAY!! Each mom received a gift bag filled with sweet treats reminding her that “SHE IS LOVED”. Thank you to our Team, as well as 1st Baptist Longwood volunteers, for taking care of all the kiddos while mom enjoyed spending time hands free.
Back 2 School!
This year we were able to assist 150 single mother families * 315 kids * at the drive thru event with BRAND NEW backpacks, school supplies, water bottles, snack bags and a Gas Gift Card for each mom. Thank you Foundation 4 Life for sponsoring this event (17 years) AND flying in from Utah to personally give the backpacks to each family!!! It truly is touching when distance doesn’t hinder LOVING PEOPLE WELL!!! The kids were able to return to school with CONFIDENCE and a pep in their step knowing that someone SEES them. Praying that all of our students have a SUCCESSFUL school year.
Christmas
Christmas Toy Shop was a BIG success thanks to our AMAZING community who donated ALL the items for our moms to have a wonderful shopping experience. New bicycles, electronics, high line cosmetics, board games, baby dolls, Gift Cards and SOOO MUCH MORE!! There were also 20 decorated Christmas Trees donated by Manheim Auctions that moms could take home.
Events like this ONLY happen when VOLUNTEERS show up – 1st Baptist of Longwood volunteers along with our faithful volunteers/board members made Christmas EXTRA SPECIAL for 75 families of E.S.T.H.E.R. Single Mother’s Outreach.
